I have just found this great new site for photo products, myprintography.com. I can not explain how wonderful the photo canvas that I just received in the mail is. I know I sound like I am gushing, but you really have to try this site for yourself.
When you travel over to myprintography.com the first thing you will notice is the great design of their website, so user friendly. They offer a wide variety of choice for photos from prints, photo books and photo canvas plus many more options.
I opted to purchase an 11×14 wrapped canvas of my children from this summer on the beach. I simply clicked through the options on the website and it brought me to a designer template. You can easily see how your canvas was going to look as you created it. It was simple to use and straight forward with directions. I really liked that you could see what parts of your photos were going to wrap around the edges of the canvas. You could also alter your image here is well by changing the color, adding type, etc. I chose just to keep my canvas as a basic print.
When my package arrived in the mail the other day (about a week turn around time) I was so excited. The color and clarity of the canvas is stunning. The blue of the water and sky really popped against the sandy beach. The crispness of the photo was stunning, you could see the texture of the sand, the wisps of my daughters hair and the rolling of the waves as they crashed against the shore.
The construction of the frame of the canvas is solid and sturdy, super heavy… excellent craftsmanship. The photo canvas from myprintography came with hanging wire and a picture hanger. I can not tell you enough how pleased I am with this photo canvas, This will definitely be my place to shop for like gifts and photos in the future. You should go check them out for yourself!

I have a secret, please don’t tell anyone. If I tell you what it is, promise me you will keep it for me. Well all right, here it goes…
I love finding old furniture really cheap to decorate my house with. There I said it. There is nothing I like better that scouring antiques stores, garage sales, yard sales, etc. Or even better if someone is clearing out an old house or estate and they don’t want it anymore and its F-R-E-E, free, even better!
Now sometimes when the furniture is cheap, it may need a little love and TLC. But I promise you, its worth it! We have found and/or bought numerous pieces over the past few years. I am going to share two of my favorite with you today.
The first is a console that we found in an antique store. We bought it for $30. It was in pretty good condition when we found it, was just missing a drawer and was slightly unlevel. An easy enough fix. I loved the wood and the lines of the piece. The detail on the back board was beautiful. I knew that it would fit perfectly in our small bathroom. My husband then made a drawer to fit where the one was missing. He attached a vintage looking handle, you would never know that it did not belong there in the first place. I found some wire baskets to put on the shelf below for towels and it was perfect. $30 well spent.
The other item we found was this antique label display. This piece is really long but very narrow in depth. Perfect for the entry way by our stairs where there is not a lot of room. This piece has numerous cardboard boxes that hold old labels for fishing reels and line. Most of the boxes still have the labels in them. This was in “as-is” condition.
Can you believe someone was getting rid of it? We scored this beauty for free. That’s right free. I pared it with a vintage library card drawer filled with flowers and an oversize mirror. I think it fills the space perfectly. The top is a great display for seasonal items. We had a beautiful large wooden sled, reindeer and Santa there for the holidays.
Please keep my secret, because if other people find out what is out there I may not be able to find the pieces I want for my house!
I have stumbled across this website it is called Jane.com.

For the past twelve years our elf, Lowry has been coming to spend the Christmas season with us. Every year we take care of him for Santa for the month of December and he shares in the holiday spirit with our children. My son is 12 years old and he still believes in the power of the elf. He loves him and my other two children have grown to love him as well. Our elf is a special elf. He is an Elf Magic Elf. He is different then your “Elf on the Shelf” elf because the children can touch him. He comes with us all month long, on all of our holiday outings. The children have fought over who gets to have a slumber party with him at night.
Now we have an elf family! One of which is a Pocket Elf. Perfect for my one year old to bring around with her. Now the Pocket Elf does not come to life but just serves as a nice reminder year-round of all the fun our elves will create. These Elf Magic Elves come with “Magic North Pole Snowflakes, which are sprinkled on the Elf each night to bring him or her to life”. So they still get into mischief but the children get to play with them during the day. Also these elves do not report back to Santa about the kids behavior, so no idle threats in this house!!
So how do you get an Elf Magic elf for yourself? Simply visit elf-magic.com And “write a letter to Santa asking him to reserve a special Elf to visit and spend Christmas at your home. Crackers and water are the tasty treat that helps lure an Elf Magic Elf to the home.”
Make sure you spend some time on the website, they have lots of things to do there and many accessories to order for your elf. Our new additions this year came with “Forever Elf Fashions” Surfs Up clothing and accessories. Oh the places I bet we will find them!
I think I am just as excited as my kids! But don’t take my word for it. Check them out yourself at elf-magic.com. Remember my original elf is 12 years old and still going strong! If that doesn’t say tradition, I don’t know what does!
Disclosure: We were lucky enough for a new Elf Magic Elf, a Pocket Elf and a package of Forever Elf Fashions to arrive at our home this year. I was not compensated in any other manner. The opinions expressed above are my own and any claims should be verified on the sponsor’s site. Remember I had my original Elf Magic Elf since 2001, long before this blog was started.
Recently while I was looking around on Etsy.com I stumbled across a listing for $1.00 hair bows for my little girl.
Are you kidding??
The listing was for 12 three-inch hair bows for $12.00 (plus shipping) AND you can pick the colors you want? Crazy, I know. So I ordered my 12 hair bows from SweetBabyBluesShop and chose my fabulous colors from this incredibly long list of hues. I figured I would wait and see what showed up at my door.
They were AWESOME!! They were packaged so nicely wrapped in tissue paper. The colors were amazing. The clips were of good quality. And the bows were super cute!
This shop is a must-have on your list of go-to places for any little girl or big girl in your life. Check them out for yourself at SweetBabyBluesShop on Etsy.com.
