Italian Bakery Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter room temperature
  • ¾ c sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 TBSP vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp almond extract
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2-1/2 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Prepare baking sheets with silicon mats and set aside.
  3. In an electric mixer with paddle attachment cream the butter and sugar about 5 minutes.
  4. Add in the egg and vanilla, and almond extracts and combine.
  5. Mix the baking powder, flour and salt until fully incorporated.
  6. Place batter into a pastry tube – (I used no tip, you can easily use whatever tip you like)
  7. Pipe out batter to about 2” long on baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
  9. Cool completely and then fill with your favorite jams, chocolate
