Lately I have taken to this “subway style” art that I have seen all over the place. Super clean, type design. I love it! My background is in design and though I have been out of designing things for myself for a while in the past couple of weeks I have created a few things.
I designed two pieces of subway art for Christmas (see older posts) and my most recent endeavor is a birth announcement. I think it turned out quite nice. The owl will complement my daughters bedroom theme. Now all it needs is a frame. Or even a shadow box.
I think this would make a really nice gift for new parents to have as a keepsake for their child. I am going to design a baby boy announcement as well. If parents have their theme set for their nursery at the baby shower, you could have this designed and ready to go after the baby is born.
The top design trends this year definitely were chevron prints, typographical posters and new color palettes.
I really like the pale yellow and grey combination this year as a neutral for a boy or girl. It gives you a strong color composition to work with. You can add pops of teal or hot pink to truly customize the look and style you are striving for.
