As some of you may know my background is in Graphic Design. This is what I studied in college however I have not had much of a chance to use my education and talent lately .
But you know what? I miss it.
I love pretty things. I love when you look at something and it makes you smile. I have been missing my smile lately and I think this has a lot to do with this. I have been so wrapped up in being a mom and working full time that I stopped doing the things that make me, me! If that makes sense to anyone.
Designing prints, cards, labels, and art made me very happy. I love colors and putting them together. But most of all, I love the finished product and giving it to someone else and for them to smile when they look at it.
So I made a decision, a resolution of sorts I guess. I am going to design things again and I hope you don’t mind but I am going to share them with you. I would love for some comments and feedback as I have been out of this for a while but I want some honest opinions. Please and thank you!
My mom-time has consumed me lately so I decided to start with some nursery art or kids room art. I personally like things that aren’t too baby-ish but can grow with the child. I think using a more grown-up color palette helps with this too. I used a chevron print and animal silhouettes to make prints that could be easily framed for a child’s room. What do you think?
