Every year I stress over my Christmas cards. I know, ridiculous right? But each year it’s the same thing. I worry about the photo or photos and getting the kids to sit still for a photo shoot is another nightmare.
I have been purchasing my cards from Tinyprints.com for the past few years and they give you the choice to put another photo on the back of the card. I am sure other companies offer a similar service but I am not 100 percent sure.
My initial thought was great, another photo to worry about.
But then I had a great idea!
Each year during the fall we go to a corn maze. I took a photo of the boys walking through the corn maze from behind by chance a few years ago. I used that photo for the back of the card! Now every year when we go to the maze I make sure to take a photo of the kids. I think it really shows the ages of the children. I love seeing them all together, it is such a good visual timeline. I just wish I have been doing this for the past 12 years! As our family grows, the photo changes but I think that it makes it special and a little more personal.
I know many friends and relatives look forward to seeing the back of my Christmas card each year, some even say they flip it over first. Knowing that the back of the card is done early each year, I don’t stress out as much over the front… Well maybe a little!
Where do you go every year that you could take your timeline photo? You should really try it and of course let me know what you think!
