Thick and Soft Lofthouse Bakery Sugar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients- frosting

stick unsalted butter
room temperature
½
cup
shortening

cups
confectioner’s sugar
1
tsp
vanilla extract
1
tsp
almond extract
2-3
TBSP
milk
Sprinkles
Food coloring
if desired
Instructions
Cookies-
In an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3 minutes)
Add the eggs and yolks one at a time until combined.
Mix in the extracts, salt and baking powder until combined.
Slowly add in the flour until incorporated.
Form into a large disk, wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least 3 hours.
Preheat oven to 375, line baking sheets with silicon mats.
Roll out the refrigerated dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes.
Place 1-inch apart on baking sheet.
Bake until lightly golden – 10-12 minutes.
Let cool completely before frosting.
For the frosting-
In a large bowl blend all the ingredients until the desired consistency. Place into piping bag for frosting.
