Summer Chores and Investing Money with BusyKid App

This is a sponsored post on behalf of BusyKid. All thoughts and opinions are my own and yours may vary.

If your children are anything like mine having them do chores without asking is rough. During the summer we increase the chores that our children are responsible for but we also have an increase in their allowance. Our children take care of the dog, trash, laundry, garden, dishes and more! We use the BusyKid App because it provides kids a hands-on experience in managing invisible money.

How does the BusyKid App work?

Simply download the BusyKid App on your iOS or Android device and enroll the entire family for $14.95 a year with the first 30 days FREE.  It gives me piece of mind to know that I can control all the chores in one place. Now getting them to feed the dog is a little easier.

The BusyKid App has a partnership with Stockpile that allows children to spend their allowance on fractional shares of real stock. They are the only app that currently has this feature.  My kids thought it was so cool that they could invest in actual businesses. Talk about a way to motivate!

That is not to say they need to invest in stocks to use the app. The BusyKid points can be used for in-store or online purchases as well as making direct donations to several charities. Or add a BusyKid Spend Card (reloadable debit card) for $5 per year to allow your children to manage their own purchases. Planning a summer vacation? Have your children do chores to earn money that can pay for their extras while away. Think of how proud they will be when they can use their own money on their debit card to make purchases.

Summer Chores = Responsibility

If my children go above and beyond what their chores were for the week my husband and I can reward them with a bonus or two.

The results are in! The following are some statistics of the families that are already using BusyKid.

What are you teaching your children this summer? I know our family will learn a little more about finances and responsibility as well as helping out around the house. For more information about the BusyKid App, visit them on the web.
