Foster Children’s Creativity with LEGO® Classic

Thank you LEGO Systems, Inc for sponsoring this post. Need more inspiration? Find ideas for all level of builders at LEGO.com/Classic.

Squeal! We love LEGO® Classic. I have 3 children ages 4,7,and 14 and they all LOVE LEGOs. I cannot tell you how many sets we have purchased, but we have so many of the final products up on display in their bedrooms.

As an art teacher, I know how important it is to not only build and create but also use the fine motor skills needed to put the pieces together and take them apart. My children spend hours using their imagination and creating unique sculptures.

One of the best things about the LEGO® Classic series is that it gives builders a “no instructions necessary” building experience providing inspiration that highlights the possibilities of open-ended building to inspire endless play. There are ten sets that range in price from $16.99 – $59.99 that are colorful and versatile and be combined with any existing set you may have. Trust me- we have so many LEGO sets!

Each set includes classic LEGO bricks, a mix of special pieces and ideas, to help you get started, so your child will have everything he/she needs to be inspired. Houses, vehicles and animals are all possible with LEGO Classic.

My children beam with pride when they have finished creating a project with LEGOs. The sense of accomplishment is something that you want to instill in your kids and these sets give them the opportunity to do well.

Here is a ‘Pro Tip’ from LEGO Master Builders and Upright Citizens Brigade Experts and have a look at their YouTube video- it’s awesome.

Build your world. Look around right now. Are you in the kitchen? Outside on the porch? In your family room? Focus on a favorite object and try and build it. Don’t dwell on the details just focus on the general shape or color and add one distinguishing detail.

As an art teacher, I cannot tell you how important creativity is especially in young children. We need to enrich their minds in learning that not only is it ok to think outside of the box, but it will make your world so much more exciting if you do.

My children enjoy playing with LEGOs and I love the creativity it fosters. You can find LEGOs in mass retailers as well as online. Make your child a LEGO builder today!
