Dairy Free Fruit Dip

In honor of National SoyFoods month I wanted to try and incorporate this mighty soybean into our diet. My children always have a snack when they come home from school and I love having something healthy ready for the kids to eat.

I learned that a diet filled with soy nutrition offer more minimally processed plant foods and fewer animal foods and offers many soy healthy benefits. There are studies that show this style of eating can cut your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain types of cancer. The soybean also is also lower in saturated fat and naturally has no cholesterol, so this is a great plant powered protein to keep your heart healthy.

This delicious dairy free fruit dip is a great way to incorporate this type of natural protein into your diet. I used SILK dairy-free yogurt alternative (soy  yogurt) in this fruit dip. One container of SILK dairy-free yogurt alternative contains 6 grams of plant-based protein, cholesterol, gluten and carrageenan free and is vegetarian. I used the Vanilla variety in my dairy-free fruit dip.

Dairy Free Fruit Dip

 

Ingredients

1 container SILK dairy-free yogurt alternative, Vanilla

½ cup Confectioner’s sugar

5 strawberries, hulled

¼ cup chocolate chips*

*by choice, you can omit if wanted.

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients, except the chocolate chips into a food processor and pulse until combined.
  2. Fold in chocolate chips.
  3. Serve with fruit and biscotti

Oh my! This dairy free fruit dip in delicious! What a great after school snack or even a recipe to bring to a party. You could serve this dairy-free fruit dip with graham crackers, biscotti, fruit, or even pretzels. This was the perfect recipe for us to try for National Soybean Month. What will you try? Swapping out meat for tofu, adding cooked and chilled edamame beans into your lunch bags or switching to soymilk for your morning coffee? Any of these options will help you add this natural protein into your diet.
