I have been dying to try a delicious trifle recipe this past holiday season and I created a gorgeous one just for you. I created this trifle for Christmas Dessert but you can easily swap out the green velvet cake for just red velvet which would be perfect for any occasion. This would also be a decadent dessert for valentines day.
Ingredients
1 box red velvet cake mix (I used the green and red variety in one box) and ingredients according to box
2 boxes Instant Chocolate pudding
2 tubs Cool Whip
1-1/2 cups Milk
1 8oz Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
Directions
- Bake cake according to directions in 2 round cake pans and cool completely.
- Mix filling: in a mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Add pudding mixes and milk and combine until thickened. add cream cheese and mix. fold in 1 tub cool whip.
- Assemble Trifle
- Layer cake, pudding, then cool whip, repeat.
- Granish with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, crushed cookies….. Whatever you desire.
