DIY Gold Lampshade

We are in the process of re-decorating our little girls bedroom. She loves everything pink and sparkly and frilly …. Which I totally love! In any event we are doing her bedroom in pink and gold and I want it to be girly but not so much little girly, if you know what I mean.

We found this neat zebra lamp at a yard sale a while ago and I love it but the lampshade was kind of blah. So I thought a shade with a rim of gold around the edge would be perfect and so easy to do. I think it came out great… what do you think?

Directions

  1. Clean the lampshade of any dust or debris.
  2. Using painters tape. Mask off the area you do not want to paint. Make sure you press down firmly on the edges so you get a nice, clean line.
  3. Place the lampshade on a piece of cardboard and using gold spray paint. Evenly coat until covered.
  4. Peel off painters tape and put the shade back on the lamp.
