DIY Mermaid Underwater Green Blue Slime

My daughter has fully embraced the slime craze. We made this blue-green underwater mermaid slime with gold leaf this past weekend and she was in love with the results.

DIY Mermaid Underwater Green Blue Slime

This slime looks shimmery because of the gold leaf sheets that are pressed into the slime. The blue green color looks just like a mermaid tail and for all the mermaid fans in your home this is the perfect craft activity. My daughter has been playing with this beautiful slime non-stop for days!

Shimmering Mermaid Slime

Ingredients

4 oz clear glue

1 tsp baking soda

2 tbsp contact lens solution

1 drop each blue and green food coloring.

1 sheet gold leaf

Directions

In a small bowl pour in glue, mix baking soda until dissolved.

Add the food coloring and combine.

Slowly pour in the contact solution and stir until the slime forms.

Once the slime has formed, pick it up in your hands and continuing mixing until soft and pliable.

Take one gold leaf sheet and press into the slime.

Fold and stretch the gold leaf to add the shimmer to the slime.

This mermaid slime is easy to make and the gold leaf sheets add a hint of beautiful shimmer to this slime. I love the iridescent color of this slime and the consistency is smooth and beautiful.

We have been hit with the slime bug for sure! We now have been making a different slime recipe each day and we can not wait to share our new creations with you! Embrace the creative slime frenzy and bond with your children over the process of making slime. I had my daughters undivided attention for a few hours while we made slime and talked. It really was a great activity and we had so much  playing and experimenting with slime.
