How to Make Apple Turnovers from Scratch

I have never made pastry crust before- I know weird right? But I wanted to make homemade apple turnovers from scratch, I think I was intimated by the whole rolling out the dough process but I have a great recipe that was not hard to do and this pastry dough can be used for many different recipes and freezes well too. Plus it makes the apple turnovers light and flaky.

For the apple turnovers-

I used  jarred apple pie filling. or you can use my homemade pie filling.

Preheat the oven to 375.

Place a silicon mat on a baking sheet.

Roll the dough to 1/4 inch thick and slice into triangles.

Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each triangle.

Fold the edges over to make a smaller triangle.

Using a fork, crimp the edges to seal.

Top each with a egg white wash and sprinkle each turnover with sugar.

Bake for 20- 25 minutes until golden.
