Wahoo it’s Spring! That is right ladies and gentlemen, clean of those grills, get out your blenders and by all means go and get a pedicure! There is nothing like the first meal cooked on the barbeque grill after a long winter. And while we did not have a whole lot of snow this winter (knock on wood) I am so glad Spring has sprung.

I love a good sausage and pepper sandwich when the weather turns warmer. I don’t know if it is the memories of baseball games and little league or if I just love the combination of spicy sausage and sweet peppers on a roll. Last week when I was in Walmart, I picked up a package of Jack Link’s Wild Side sausages to christen our grill with. I love their BOLD and unique flavors of Original, Jalapeño, & Cheddar. We are definitely a spicy and cheesy family so these sausages are perfect for us.

The only thing that could make this sausage and pepper sandwich any better is a homemade cheese sauce to drizzle on top.

Oh man this cheese sauce is perfect to top your sandwich with and you may want to serve a cup on the side too!

Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

½ cup low sodium chicken broth

1 Tbsp cornstarch

8 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup (4 oz) shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Salt to taste

Directions

In a medium saucepan, bring the broth to a simmer.

In a bowl, toss the cheeses with the cornstarch until coated.

Drop by handfuls into the broth and stir until melted.

Serve warm.

I cannot tell you how delicious this is! Grill up your Jack Link’s Wild Side sausages, top with sautéed peppers and drizzle with cheese sauce. Oh my goodness, you will want to serve these up at any barbeque you have this year. The best part about these Jack Link’s Wild Side sausages is that they are high in protein and made with premium cuts of beef & pork and no fillers. They have no added MSG and are gluten free. These are sausages that you can feel good about serving your family.

The next time you are in Walmart, look for the Jack Link’s Wild Side sausages in the refrigerated meat section that are sure to Feed Your Wild Side! Even better, there is Rollback pricing ($3.48) from now through Memorial Day so stock up now!
