I love having fresh flowers around the house. I think it makes everything feel more homey and pretty. My husband has even come around to the idea! However I hate paying a lot of money for flowers from a florist. I have found that grocery stores really have a great selection of flowers at a fraction of the cost.
The key is to finding flowers that are in a similar color range of values. This week I found 2 bouquets (one mixed and one half-dozen roses) in the same range of color. I spent $8.00 on these flowers. I used jars and containers that I already had around the house. I love to mix things up. Like using the dessert cup to hold a single rose bud.
