As a mom to three school aged children and a teacher myself we are all very excited that school is out for the summer! This is our time to celebrate, play, and enjoy each others company and what better way to do that than with a homemade ice cream cake made with Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla ice cream, Blue Bunny® Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream and Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping. So easy and delicious too!
We love spending most of our summer days outside playing in the yard or swimming by the pond. I love to bring snacks and treats for everyone and my whole family loves ice cream. I mean who doesn’t? This easy homemade ice cream cake is perfect served in slices and the perfect way to cool off on a hot day.
On my last trip to Walmart I noticed that Blue Bunny® Ice Cream is now in a new clear container that allows you to see the flavor swirls. I had such a hard time choosing which flavors I wanted to try in my cake but I settled on Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla ice cream and Blue Bunny® Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. By adding Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping to my cake it is an inexpensive way to add some fun to your summer ice cream.
Homemade Ice Cream Cake
Ingredients:
Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla ice cream
Blue Bunny® Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream
Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping
1 store made pound cake, sliced in thirds horizontally.
**Sprinkles if desired
Directions:
Soften ice cream on counter for approximately 15 minutes before using.
Line loaf pan with wax paper.
Place one cake layer in a loaf pan.
Top with a layer of Blue Bunny® Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.
Top with a thin layer of Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping.
Add the second cake layer.
Top with a thin layer of Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla ice cream.
Top with a thin layer of Smucker’s Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping.
Add the final cake layer.
*** Top with sprinkles if desired.
Freeze for at least an hour before slicing.
