Kid Lunches Made Simple

My daughter is starting school this September and I am already starting to think of different ways to pack her lunch. She likes to graze all day and eats a variety of different things but can be particular in her food choices. Packing her lunch with a well-balanced meal that she will eat is especially important to me.

All of my kids love popcorn, we eat it all the time as a delicious snack. Our brand of choice is SkinnyPop® Popcorn. It is made with just three ingredients- popcorn, sunflower oil and just the right amount of salt. We found that SkinnyPop offers the SkinnyPack® with six 0.65 oz. lunchbox-sized 100-calorie bags in both Original and White Cheddar flavors, which is perfect for the school year, which are easy and convenient to put in a lunch box.

Have a look at this back to school video from SkinnyPop.

My daughter’s lunch consists of a homemade bento box. Simply use a container that you have at home and place cupcake liners inside the box to keep items organized and to alleviate the “touching” of different varieties of food.

I cut out cheese in different shapes and place them on crackers, for a cute and tasty treat. She loves when I do that!

The best part of her lunch is these pinwheel wraps. So easy to make and you can fill them with whatever meat, cheese combination your child enjoys. I made a roast beef and cheese wrap with ranch dressing on a spinach wrap.

Simply spread the dressing on the wrap.

Then, layer your meat and cheese.

Roll up tight, wrap in saran wrap and refrigerate.

Slice into pieces and pack up for lunch or serve as an after-school snack.

They are as delicious as they look! Pack these pinwheel sandwiches, cheese and crackers, grapes, a bottle of water and a bag of SkinnyPop Popcorn and your child will be set for the busy day at school. I found that simple is best when I pack my kids and even my own lunch everyday. Plus I know what we are eating throughout the day!
