A special mermaid deserves a special mermaid tails. These chocolate covered pretzel rods are exactly what you need for a special mermaid birthday party or even a great treat for a school bake sale.

Mermaid Birthday Party Food Ideas

They are so easy to make and they look so pretty! These would look spectacular in a mason jar on a girls birthday table.

  1. Melt chocolate in microwave according to package directions.
  2. Divide the mixture into 2 separate cups and add food coloring to each.
  3. Dip the pretzel rod sticks into the blue melted chocolate, turning to ensure coverage.
  4. Drip the purple melted chocolate over the blue chocolate.
  5. Place on wax paper and decorate with sprinkles.
  6. Let dry.

Mermaid Party Desserts

These are so pretty and can be altered depending on what your colors of your party are. I love using the silver non perils as part of the decorations. I think it gives the mermaid tails a beautiful finish and a nice contrast to the pastel water colors.

These chocolate dipped “mermaid tails” would also work for an under the sea party, ocean themed shower, Bubble Guppies, Little Mermaid and so many more! These would also look and taste fantastic for a bake sale. I would wrap 2 chocolate pretzels in a cellophane bag and tie with a ribbon and a tag.

I think I am going to make a few batches for my daughters Kindergarten graduation in their school colors which are pale blue and white. They would make a great addition to any dessert table or centerpiece for a party and really they are so easy to make and are not time consuming.

I keep the finished pretzels refrigerated until party time just so they do not melt and make messy hands.

Happy Baking!

Fun unicorn sprinkles that would be great for a unicorn horn pretzel rod.
