Nana’s Apple Cake

vintage apple cake recipe from grandmas kitchen

When my mom was going through some of my Nana’s things that we had in the attic. She found an envelope with a few recipes in it in my grandmothers handwriting. How sweet! This apple cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting is the first of the recipes I created and it came out wonderful. The apple cake is moist and filled with apples while the cinnamon cream cheese frosting has a bit of spice.

Either way you will be transported back to your grandma’s kitchen with this Apple Cake Recipe.

I made a few adjustments to the recipe because originally it was an apple nut cake. My family does not like nuts in their cake. If you are a lover of nuts you can add 1 cup chopped walnuts into the batter before baking.
