It is so important to establish a good nighttime routine with your children. We are so lucky that are youngest daughter has been a great sleeper. It definitely makes a difference! As she has grown her nighttime routine has changed a little bit, but it is just that, a routine. She knows that it is time for bed and she unwinds that way. As a teacher, I know the importance of routines with children- trust me they thrive on it.
Our routine consists of a tub, GoodNites® Underwear, brushing teeth, and a book or two. She has been potty trained for quite some time but she still wears a GoodNites® Underwear to bed because it gives my daughter comfort to not to wake up wet because she will tell you she is a “big girl”.
I buy our Huggies at Family Dollar, because it is this mom’s favorite one stop shop for my baby needs at a great value. Who doesn’t like to save money?
One of the thing that I have done since my daughter was starting to potty train was to take a “Just In Case” bag with us where ever we went. This bag had an extra diaper, wipes and a change of pants as well.
I would leave one in the car, one at her sitters, one in dad’s car, a bag a grandma’s and so on. This would probably also work if your child goes to pre-school or day care. I do not sew very well, but I am super handy with a hot glue gun so I made these easy draw string bagsfor our “just in case”
DIY NO-SEW Just in Case Bag
Items You Need:
Hot glue gun and glue
1 tea towel
2 feet ribbon or string
Directions:
- Lay your tea towel flat and fold in half.
- Hot glue the seams, leaving about 1-1/2 inches unglued at the top.
- Cut your ribbon in half.
- Lay one piece of ribbon at the top of your tea towel and fold over the 1-1/2 inches.
- Hot glue that seam down.
- Repeat on the other side.
- Turn your project inside-out so that the ribbons are on the inside.
- Pull the fabric to gather and tie into a bow at the top.
How cute are these bags and they are perfect to put your Huggies diapers or Pull-Ups® Training Pants in! These could be for either a boy or a girl and they are so easy to make. I am sure if you are a good sewer you could stitch it up, but the hot glue holds just as well.
