Anyone else feel like they are lagging behind with the start of the New Year? With three children to make lunch for every day, it can definitely seem daunting. After the holidays I like to jazz things up a bit so they are looking forward to going back to school. I leave them little notes or sticker as well as a creative sandwich. My daughter LOVES donuts but lets face it- they are not really healthy for lunch. We make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich cut into a donut shape and topped with sprinkles- perfection!
We love to use Simply Jif® Peanut Butter and Smucker’s® Seedless Strawberry Jam for the perfect pairing of peanut butter to jam. The combination of Smucker’s perfectly sweet jams, because it is made with real fruit to the smooth and creamy peanut butter of Jif provides great taste that my children enjoy. Plus these “donuts” look so cute in the lunch bag – I know I would be excited for school lunch if these sandwiches were packed for me. We picked up our peanut butter and jelly on our last ShopRite trip and boy did they have quite a selection.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Donut Sandwiches
Ingredients
2 pieces of white bread
2 TBSP of Simply Jif® Peanut Butter
2 TBSP Smucker’s® Seedless Strawberry Jam
1 TBSP Rainbow sprinkles
2 round cookie cutters
Directions
Using your larger cookie cutter cut out a round shape.
Next, use the smaller cookie cutter to cut out the inner circle.
Spread the peanut butter onto one slice of the bread.
Top with the jam.
Pour the sprinkle onto a plate, and gently press your sandwich into the sprinkles.
Simple as that you have a fun and creative lunch for your children that will not only have them excited to eat but also I bet they will enjoy sharing your clever creation with their friends. Add a cute note that reads, “DONUT Worry, Be Happy!” or “I DONUT what I would do without you!”
You can bet this is what my children will have in their lunch boxes tomorrow.
