If your house is anything like mine, you are rushing around here to there from work, after school activities, and lessons on a day-to-day basis. That’s not to mention the doctor’s appointments, haircuts, shopping and more. Sometimes I wonder how we fit it all in. I love reconnecting with Family Pizza + Game Night every Friday.
I feel like we are disconnected as a family on many nights, depending on who is home and where others need to go! But Fridays are for us. Friday, affectionately called Pizza Friday in our home, is when we eat pizza, play games and talk together as a family with NO ELECTRONICS. Yes, you heard that right: everyone disconnects, even me, for a great dinner with Ellio’s Pizza, good conversation and games. Sometimes it is a classic board game, dominoes or cards. The children LOVE card games- Go Fish!, Old Maid or Rummy. These games nights are the most special to me because I can see my whole family together having fun. We do vary what we play and the children each get a turn to pick what the game is.
My family loves Ellio’s Pizza. The taste brings back memories for me when I had pizza night when I was a kid. My family and I would play games once or twice a month with my grandparents and I loved it. I still remember my grandparents inviting their friends over for card games – it still brings a smile to my face thinking about our quality time together when I was younger. I grew up on Long Island and coincidentally Ellio’s Pizza was launched in Long Island over 50 years ago!
