Smart Breakfast Routines

Breakfast time can be a bit rushed in our home on some days but I have found by keeping the little ones organized certainly helps cut down the chaos. My youngest started preschool this year and having a list of what she needs to do before she can get on the bus for school has turned our breakfast routine around.

Having Lender’s® Bagels on hand is a great option for our busy on the go mornings or even for an afternoon snack. With a smear of Smart Balance® Buttery Spread or topped with fresh sliced strawberries is the way we serve our bagels in the morning. I found both Smart Balance® Buttery Spread and Lender’s® Bagels in the refrigerated dairy section at Walmart this past week. I was so excited that they had the blueberry variety of bagels this week – a definite family favorite.

DIY WHITEBOARD CHECKLIST

Each morning I place my daughter’s whiteboard by her breakfast plate so she know what she needs to do in the morning before she can get on the bus.  Some of these options change on occasion but there are a few that are a staple.

  1. Eat Breakfast
  2. Brush teeth.
  3. Backpack
  4. Go potty
  5. Put shoes on

She crosses them off after she completes each task. It has also helped her recognize certain words now as well. Drawing a small picture along with the words can help as well. I have found that this keeps her on task in the morning and gives her ownership of getting some things done on her own.

This DIY Whiteboard checklist has definitely helped in our morning routines. We love having bagels on hand for our busy schedules, it certainly makes it a lot easier to grab and go out the door. Be sure to look for Smart Balance® Buttery Spread and Lender’s® Bagels during your next trip to Walmart.
