There is nothing quite like biting into a soft and chewy sugar cookie from the bakery. Especially if they have a delicious icing on top – it makes them even better. This is a no-fail chewy sugar cookie recipe. Just do not over bake these cookies, that is what makes for a hard cookie.
Soft and Chewy Sugar Cookies
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups flour
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Combine all ingredients in a mixer until you have a smooth dough.
- Roll dough out on a floured work surface until 1/4″ thick.
- Cut into shapes and arrange on cookie sheets with silicone mats.
- Bake about 10 minutes.
- Cool completely and ice.
