Fall is here and that means apples and more importantly caramel apples. These sweet treats are the perfect mixture of fall. I love to make caramel apple bites because it is just enough of the sweet stuff but not too much!

The Best Caramel Apple Bites Recipe

Making your own homemade caramel is quite easy. Once you make your own you will never go back to unwrapping the pre-packaged caramel candy.

Fall Caramel Apples

 

Ingredients

4 apples, sliced into 1/4″ thick slices

1 stick unsalted butter

2 cups brown sugar

1 cup light corn syrup

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

10-12 wooden sticks

sprinkles, optional

Directions

In a medium saucepan melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup and stir.

Bring mixture to a boil and stir in milk.

Continue stirring until a thermometer reads 248 degrees.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Set aside.

Meanwhile, insert sticks into the apple slices.

Dip into the caramel and place on baking sheet with greased wax paper.

Top with sprinkles, if desired.

Refrigerate for 1 hour.
