The very same butter cookies in their adorable cookie liners and delicious melt in your mouth butter taste. This recipe is a very close example of a recipe that tastes very familiar. Just minus the blue tin.
Danish Butter Cookies
INGREDIENTS
1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg white
1/4 cup sanding sugar
Directions
In the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla, flour and salt and combine.
Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a log and wrap individually in saran wrap.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 325.
Cut into 1/4 slices. and place on baking sheets with silicon mats.
Brush the tops of each cookie with the egg white and sprinkle with sanding sugar.
Bake for about 12 minutes.
Cool completely.
