This is sure to be a family favorite, these refrigerator cookies that resemble a cinnamon bun with all the deliciousness of a cookie.

You can be prepare the dough up to 24 hours and placed in the fridge until ready to use, if you need too.

Ingredients for Cinnamon Roll Cookies

 

Directions

Prepare the dough – Blend the 2 sticks of butter, 2/3 cup sugar and cream cheese with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Add in the flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla extract and combine.

Form 2 squares and place in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Take out one square and roll with a sprinkle of flour into a 12 x 9 rectangle.

Make the filling – combine ¼ cup butter, ½ cup sugar and 1 TBSP cinnamon.

Using half of the filling spread over the rolled square.

Starting at the long end, tightly roll the dough into a tight spiral.

Wrap with plastic wrap and put in the freezer for 30 minutes. (*** DO NOT skip this step)

Repeat with other square.

Preheat oven to 350. Line baking sheets with silicon mats and set aside.

Slice the dough into ¼ inch slices and bake 10-12 minutes

Let cool completely.
