Sea Glass Jello is the perfect way to celebrate the warm weather. Summer is here and there is nothing that I enjoy more than spending time at the beach.
Mermaid Sea Glass Jello
With my feet in the sand, the smell of sunscreen and listening to the waves crash against the shore I know that all is right with the world. This is definitely my happy place.
Sea Glass Jello
These layered jello dessert bars would be perfect for a Finding Dory, mermaid, shark or beach party. They look so pretty and even look great displayed on a dessert table too. Changing the colors you could easily use these for a princess themed brunch or shower too.
I can not be by the beach all summer long so I created a dessert that the family would enjoy that reminds me of the ocean. I love the layered look of these Sea Glass Layered Jell-O Bars and they really are quite easy to make. The key for these bars is to wait until each layer has set so as to not disturb the layer below. I have another layered dessert recipe for Valentine’s Day or really any red/pink layered Jell-O Bar you need- this one is put together a bit differently.
The kids love them as much as the adults!
How to Make Sea Glass Jello?
Sea Glass Layered Jell-O Bars
Ingredients
1- 3oz box of Blue Jell-O
1- 3oz box of Purple Jell-O
2 -1/2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Boiling water
Directions:
***Make SURE each LAYER SETS so that they do not combine together!
Spray a 8” square baking pan with non stick cooking spray.
In a bowl combine 1/2 pkg Purple Jell-O, ½ pkg unflavored gelatin and 1 cup of boiling water. Pour into prepared pan and chill for 15-30 minutes.
While waiting- Prepare the creamy layer. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk and 1/2 cup of boiling water. Stir to combine.
In a separate smaller bowl, combine 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 gelatin packet, stir to mix. Allow this gelatin mixture to set for 2-3 minutes. Pour this gelatin mixture into the sweetened condensed milk mixture, and combine. SET ASIDE.
In another bowl sprinkle 1/2 envelope unflavored gelatin and ½ purple Jell-O into ½ cup cold water and let sit for 5 minutes. Add ½ cup boiling water to mixture and stir to dissolve. Let the mixture cool for about 5 minutes. Pour HALF of the condensed milk/gelatin mixture and combine. This will make a creamy light purple color. ** If you do not allow the hot mixture of Jell-O to cool a little bit, the milk/gelatin mixture will curdle.
Pour gently over purple layer that is in refrigerator.
Chill for 15- 30 minutes minutes.
In a bowl combine 1/2 pkg BLUE Jell-O, ½ pkg unflavored gelatin and 1 cup of boiling water. Pour gently over light purple layer in pan and chill for 15-30 minutes.
In a separate bowl sprinkle 1/2 envelope unflavored gelatin and ½ BLUE Jell-O into ½ cup cold water and let sit for 5 minutes. Add ½ cup boiling water to mixture and stir to dissolve. Let the mixture cool for about 5 minutes. Pour the other HALF of the condensed milk/gelatin mixture and combine. This will make a creamy light blue color.
Pour gently over BLUE layer that is in refrigerator and chill for 15-30 minutes.
Cut into squares and serve.
