This Maine Christmas Store Is A Holiday Wonderland Filled With Decorations You Won’t Find Everywhere

More than thousand ornaments live upstairs in one red barn, and they never get packed away. The Christmas music keeps playing in July, too.

This little shop celebrates the holidays all 365 days of the year. Snow globes, lanterns, and light-up prints fill the space with sparkle. The whole room glows like a holiday movie set.

I have a soft spot for places that refuse to let December end. Maine already does cozy better than most states. Add twinkle lights and a cupola with a horse weathervane, and my heart is pretty much gone.

Outside, a coffee trailer pours hot cocoa and cider during the holidays. Santa even has his own cottage on the property each December. So how do you choose just one ornament when the choices seem endless?

Forever Christmas at Bell Farm Shops sits upstairs, and that short climb feels like a ticket to another season. The holiday section is famous for its sparkle and its lights.

Every corner seems to glow a little brighter than the last.

Christmas music plays all day, every day. That means you can hum along to carols in the middle of a sunny afternoon.

Your neighbors might think you’re odd, but you’ll be too cheerful to care.

The shop calls itself a place where the holidays happen every single day. Many people describe the experience as stepping into a holiday movie.

Honestly, that’s the best kind of plot twist for a shopping trip.

The mood matters here as much as the merchandise. Soft light bounces off glass ornaments and shiny trims.

The effect feels warm instead of flashy, which keeps the space inviting.

Give yourself time to wander slowly. Rushing through a room this detailed would be like speed-reading a holiday card from Grandma.

You’d miss the good parts.

Bring a list if you have one, but expect to ignore it. That’s sort of the whole point.

Around A Thousand Ornaments Means Your Tree Has Options

Here’s a number to chew on: the shop offers around a thousand ornaments to choose from. That’s a small army of shiny decorations waiting for a branch to call home.

A selection that large changes how you shop. Instead of settling for the same basic balls everyone owns, you can hunt for something with real personality.

Your tree can finally tell a story about you.

Ornaments make fantastic keepsakes for trips and milestones. Couples often look for one to mark an anniversary or a special vacation.

Every December, unpacking it brings that memory right back.

Here’s a practical tip worth trying. Pick one ornament from each trip you take, then write the date on a tag.

Years later, your tree turns into a family scrapbook covered in lights.

Kids love this tradition too. Let them choose their own ornament each visit.

Watching them proudly hang it later is worth the extra minutes of deciding.

Fair warning, though. With so many choices, “just one” can quietly become three.

Nobody here will judge you for that, and your tree certainly won’t complain.

Snow Globes, Lanterns, And Prints That Actually Light Up

Shake a snow globe once and you’re hooked. The shop stocks plenty of them, along with Christmas lanterns that add a soft glow to any shelf.

Both feel like little pieces of winter you can hold.

Light-up prints are another fun find. These pieces of wall art come with built-in lights, so your holiday scene literally shines.

They’re great for a hallway or a dark corner that needs some cheer.

Specialty lights round out the glowing lineup. If your strands from last year turned into a tangled mystery, this is your chance to start fresh.

Treat yourself and skip the untangling drama.

Lanterns work especially well beyond December. Pop one on a porch or table through the snowy months, and it still looks charming.

That’s a smart buy for anyone tired of bare walls in January.

Snow globes also make easy gifts for almost anyone. Teachers, coworkers, and grandparents all tend to appreciate them.

They’re small, cheerful, and fun to shake during boring phone calls.

Think about where each piece will go before you buy. A little planning helps your glowing treasures shine in the right spot at home.

Faux Greens So Real You May Want To Water Them

Some artificial greenery looks like it came from a plastic factory in a hurry. The faux greens at Forever Christmas at Bell Farm Shops earn praise for looking surprisingly real.

That’s a big deal for anyone who loves a natural look.

Realistic greens solve a lot of problems. They don’t drop needles on the floor or dry out by New Year’s Day.

You also skip the sticky sap on your sleeves.

Tree trimmings and mantel decor sit right alongside them. Together, they help you build layered displays that feel full and finished.

A plain fireplace can turn festive with just a few smart pieces.

Try this simple trick at home. Start with a garland, then tuck in ornaments, candles, or small figures.

Build in odd numbers, like three or five, for a balanced look.

Faux greens also last for years with proper storage. Wrap them loosely in a large bin so they keep their shape.

Next December, they’ll pop right back to life.

Maine knows evergreens better than almost anywhere. Bringing that piney spirit inside, minus the mess, feels like a pretty clever move.

Gifts For Tiny Elves, Home Cooks, And Card Writers

Christmas shopping lists rarely include just one type of person. Luckily, the selection here reaches far beyond tree decorations.

You’ll find baby and kids gifts, figures and plush, and holiday pillows too.

Home cooks get some love as well. The shop offers holiday kitchen and dining items for festive tables.

A cheerful dish towel or serving piece can make a cookie exchange feel extra special.

Cards and stationery are ready for anyone who still mails real letters. Handwritten notes feel rare these days.

That makes them even more meaningful when they land in a mailbox.

Candles and scents add another layer to the fun. A holiday fragrance can make a room feel festive before you hang a single light.

It’s sneaky decorating, and it works.

Statement pieces and accessories finish the list. Some items are bold enough to anchor an entire room.

Others are small extras that tie everything together.

Here’s a helpful idea. Pair a plush toy with a matching ornament for a child’s first Christmas.

It becomes a gift they can keep, hang, and treasure for years.

Spotting the building is half the fun. Bell Farm Shops lives in a tall red barn with a cupola on top.

A horse weathervane crowns the whole thing like a cherry on a sundae.

The property covers 2.3 acres in York, Maine. A picket fence, perennial gardens, and several outbuildings surround the barn.

Wind chimes jingle on the porch, setting a cheerful tone before you even open the door.

You’ll find it all at 244 US Route 1, York, ME 03909. The location makes it an easy stop for anyone exploring the southern coast.

It’s hard to miss once you know to look for red.

Inside, the full store measures about 3,600 square feet. Forever Christmas shares that space with two other themed sections.

Upstairs is where the holiday magic waits.

Snap a picture of the barn before heading in. Its classic New England look pairs beautifully with any season.

Snow on the roof is just a bonus.

Plan your timing too. Bell Farm Shops generally opens at 10 a.m., with longer hours on Saturdays.

Check ahead before making a special trip.

Hot Cocoa From A Trailer Makes Shopping Even Better

Shopping burns more energy than people admit. Thankfully, Nectar Cafe waits outside in a charming food trailer.

It joined the property in 2020 and serves coffee, specialty drinks, and breakfast.

The holiday menu gets even cozier. During the season, the cafe offers hot cider, hot cocoa, and snacks.

Holding a warm cup on a chilly Maine day feels like a hug for your hands.

Family ties make this spot sweeter. The cafe is run by Erin, the sister of Paul Corgan.

A small family touch fits nicely with the homey feel of the whole farm.

Here’s a smart game plan for your visit. Grab a drink first, then browse while your energy is high.

Or save the cocoa as a reward after you finish your shopping.

Either way, you can’t really go wrong. A sip of cider pairs perfectly with a bag full of new ornaments.

It’s practically a holiday tradition waiting to happen.

Kids especially love this part of the trip. A cocoa break can turn a long shopping day into a happy memory.

Santa Has A Cottage Here, So Book Early

Every December, Santa takes up residence in a cottage on the property. Yes, the big guy has a seasonal address in York.

That’s a pretty impressive guest list for a farm shop.

Timing matters if you want a visit. Reservations open in early November and can fill up quickly.

Set a calendar reminder now so you don’t miss your chance.

The cottage setting feels more personal than a busy mall line. Families can enjoy a calmer moment with Santa.

That kind of quiet makes photos and conversations a lot easier.

Christmas lovers get another treat in summer. Bell Farm Shops hosts a Christmas in July event.

Celebrating holly and jingle bells while it’s warm outside is delightfully silly.

Workshops add even more reasons to return. The property has offered wreath making and watercolor classes.

A permanent tent keeps everyone comfortable no matter what the weather decides to do.

Follow the shop’s announcements for updates on upcoming events. Classes and Santa slots can go quickly.

A little planning keeps you on the nice list and inside the fun.

A Family Story That Kept The Holiday Lights On

Bell Farm began back in 1988 as an antique shop run by Rex and Judy Lambert. Backyard Birds and Garden Frills joined in 2005.

The barn has been evolving for decades.

Michelle and John Corgan bought the business in late 2017. Their first day as owners was January 2, 2018.

John grew up in Kennebunk, Maine, so the move felt a bit like coming home.

The Corgans expanded into gifts and later created Forever Christmas at Bell Farm Shops. They aim to honor earlier traditions while adding their own spark.

That balance shows in the mix of old charm and fresh ideas.

Growth has been impressive. The team went from three employees in 2017 to 21 today.

Sales passed one million dollars in 2025.

Today, the barn holds three experiences under one roof. Gift and Home, Backyard Birds and Garden, and the Christmas shop each have their own flavor.

Local makers, like a Kittery birdhouse builder, add homegrown touches.

So the next time you hang a new ornament, remember its roots. It came from a red barn with a really good story.
