I Tried 3 Fast-Food Chains In Canada That You Can’t Find In The US, Here’s How They Ranked From Worst To Best

As a foodie who loves trying new restaurants, crossing the border into Canada was like discovering a whole new fast-food universe.
While Americans have their beloved chains, our neighbors to the north enjoy some exclusive eateries we can’t find stateside.
During my recent trip to Canada, I made it my mission to sample three uniquely Canadian fast-food spots and rank them based on taste, value, and overall experience.
1. Pizza Pizza

The moment I walked into Pizza Pizza, the bright orange decor and wafting aroma of cheese promised a unique Canadian pizza experience. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t match the hype.
My pepperoni slice arrived lukewarm with a cardboard-like crust that even the most forgiving pizza lover would question. The sauce lacked personality, tasting more like slightly spiced tomato paste than the robust marinara I’d hoped for.
2. Triple O’s

“Holy smokes, that’s a proper burger!” I exclaimed after my first bite at Triple O’s. Their signature sauce (the namesake “Triple O”) elevates an otherwise standard patty into something worth crossing borders for.
The fresh-cut fries arrived piping hot with just the right amount of crisp exterior and fluffy interior. While not revolutionary, Triple O’s delivers consistent quality that puts many American burger joints to shame.
3. Mary Brown’s Chicken

Who knew Canadians were hiding the world’s best fried chicken? Mary Brown’s crispy coating shatters perfectly with each bite, revealing juicy meat that had me momentarily forgetting my table manners.
Their “Taters” – hand-cut potato wedges coated in the same heavenly seasoning as the chicken – might be the best side dish in fast food history. Founded in Newfoundland in 1969, Mary Brown’s represents Canadian comfort food at its finest.
