Summer time is almost here and for us in the middle of the woods that means ample time spent at our pond or down by the river. My in-laws have a beautiful pond that we all play, fish, swim and boat in all summer long. We have speant many years splashing around in the pond and Huggies® Little Swimmers® have been with us all along the way.
I know that when I bring Huggies® Little Swimmers® with me to the pond, pool, or river they make for an easy change. And easy is just what this mama needs! Our nearest Sam’s Club has a great big box of these Huggies® Little Swimmers® in a new super cute Finding Dory design. We love that we don’t ever have to worry about leaks because Huggies® Little Swimmers® have an extra-protective leak guard built right in. I don’t know about you but this alone gives me great peace of mind! My daughter loves that they are comfortable – I never see her tugging at them. With so many great qualities these are in my beach bag at all times.
I love making crafts that our kids can play with while we are at the pond and these easy DIY boats made from pool noodles is just the ticket. All ages will love to float them on any kind of water you have available and even want to help you make them too! Check out our outtakes below!
We always have a bunch of noodles left over every year and I was trying to think of ways to use them. I love that I was able to make these with thing I had around the house. What do you think? The kids love setting them off the dock in all sorts of weather and I usually have one or two tucked into my beach bag along with my Huggies® Little Swimmers®.
Make a Boat from a Pool Noodle
Materials
1 Pool Noodle, cut into 2” circles
Serrated knife/ scissor/ or hole punch
Straws
Paper for sails cut into triangles ( you can have the kids color 1st )
Directions
Cut noodle into 2-inch pieces, the serrated knife works awesome!
On your paper triangles, hole punch or cut a slit in the top corner and the middle of the bottom side.
Attach sails to straws, by sliding them into the holes/slits.
Place straws into noodle rings – you may have to make a slit in the noodle bottom.
Set sail!

I have to say I am quite smitten with how our boats turned out. You could incorporate these into a birthday party using a kiddie pool to set sail, or a family gathering to keep the kids occupied. All children love these from big to small! These would be perfect for a viewing party of Finding Dory this summer as well to go along with the cute packaging from Huggies® Little Swimmers®. Trust me you will want to have both of these items in your beach bag this summer.
