It’s the season for all types of showers- bridal and baby alike and I love to make something special when I am going to a shower. A personalized gift makes the best gifts for a bride-to-be.
Milestone Wine Basket
I have seen these baskets of “firsts” or “milestone” wine gift baskets that I have seen popping up all over and I just knew that I had to make one.
Milestone of Firsts Bridal Shower Gift
I created a digital template of a wine bottle label to create a series of special occasions for the newlyweds to share these bottles of wine. These labels are 3″x 4″ about the size of most standard wine bottles. I printed my labels out on plain white printer paper on my HP Envy 7640, because I found that it actually adhered to the wine bottle better.
I removed the front labels that were on the different bottle of wine but left the back label so that the happy couple can see what type/brand of wine they are drinking. I used a regular glue stick to add the labels to the wine bottle.
The best part of these “All your firsts” shower gifts is that you can truly customize them for your friends depending on what they have going on in their lives. I used some poetry for these labels that I found on this blog I spoke with this blogger and she was excited to share these poems with even more people!
Milestone Wine Bridal Shower Gift Basket
A good list is:
- First Christmas/Chanukah
- First Home
- First Baby
- First Anniversary
- First Fight
I made a blank label for you here that you can download and add your own type.
Now you can customize for your friends and loved ones for their shower gift. I promise this gift of special occasion wine for your bride-to-be will be a huge hit at the shower. Everyone loved the gift at the shower we went to. Fill with a few other odds and ends and you have a great gift that they will remember.
Add a few wine glasses from their registry, or add your own coasters, wine stopper, wine opener, glass markers, cocktail napkins, really whatever works with the theme of their personalities.
I think this makes a great gift if you missed out on all of the good stuff that was on a bride-to-be registry as well. It really is not that hard to do- if you do not want to add any poems to the labels simply write whatever the first occasion is and the couples name and wedding date. This is a go-to for me now.
A tip to remove wine bottle labels:
Place warm water in a 13×9 baking pan and add baking soda (2 TBSP or more) and stir until baking soda is dissolved. Place the wine bottle label side down in water, only soaking up to the label you want to remove. Let the bottle sit in the solution for 15 minutes. Peel off the label. If the label is still stuck, let it sit longer. You can fit two bottles at a time in the baking pan.
Disclaimer: I used my HP Envy 7640 printer that I received as part of my participation in the #HPSmartMom panel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
