There is nothing more comforting then a warm bowl of bread pudding. I have a few recipes on the blog for bread pudding, one that uses croissants! It is extra buttery and delicious.
Bread Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
1 loaf challah bread, cut into 1-inch pieces
5 eggs
1 cup sugar
4 cups milk or heavy cream if you are feeling indulgent
1 TBSP vanilla extract
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
Place the bread in the baking dish as evenly as possible.
In a large bowl, whisk the remaining ingredients together and pour over the bread. Allow the bread to sit and soak up the mixture for about 15 minutes.
Bake for 45-50 minutes. Remove from oven, serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
I like to make this recipe ahead of time and leave it in the fridge and simply microwave when you want a bowl of delicious bread pudding. This is a great recipe to make for a holiday as well because you can make it the day ahead of time, I almost thinks it tastes best the next dance so the flavors have a little more time to marry together.
