Apple Skillet Pie

This is the ultimate apple pie skillet recipe. The top is filled with rolls of cinnamon, toffee and caramel- perfect for cool fall days. We love this pie and use ready made pie crusts to cut down on time!

 

Apple Skillet Pie

Apple Skillet Pie Ingredients:

pie crusts

caramel nibs
toffee pieces
apples
sugar
water
butter
cinnamon
cornstarch

Apple Skillet Pie Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees
Filling – in a saucepan over the medium heat melt the butter and cinnamon together Stir in apples, sugar, and water


Cover and cook about 5 minutes until apples are just tender
Mix cornstarch and water and stir into the apple mixture while its boiling
Stir until thickened then remove from heat
Press one pie crust into the cast iron skillet
Fill the crust with the apple mixture


On top of the second crust sprinkle on caramel nibs and toffee bits then roll and cut into slices
Place the slices on top of the apple filling


Bake for about 45 minutes until the crust is golden brown


Cool slightly, slice, serve, and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 pie crusts, refrigerated or homemade
  • ¼ cup caramel nibs
  • ¼ cup toffee pieces
  • Filling -
  • 4-6 apples, diced small
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
