DIY Cute Short Hair Bold Accessories

This has been a year of bold choice for my family from going electronics free at dinner, getting at least 30 minutes of exercise everyday and the biggest one for me was cutting off my waist length hair to a cute shaggy bob.

Now for some of you this bold choice may not be a big deal for you but for me it was huge. I am still scarred from my mother cutting off my hair into the “Dorothy Hamil” cut when I was smaller! I really love my new do and the bold choice I made.

Last week when I was in Walmart looking for cute hair accessories, I wandered down the oral hygiene aisle and I was drawn to the bold purple color of the LISTERINE® TOTAL CARE mouthwash. As I read the label I learned that it prevents cavities, strengthens teeth and kills germs that cause bad breath. Come to Momma! This is the perfect addition to the many bold changes we have made this year!

I like to keep a pack in my desk at work as well as in my purse for when I need to freshen my breath on the go. Let’s face it- as a full time working mom this is usually more often than not. But I digress – I came to Walmart to find cute hair accessories – instead I am going to make them out of bobby pins, buttons and hot glue!

Easy DIY: Button Hair Pins

Materials Needed: Buttons, Hot Glue and Bobby Pins

Instructions:

Thread Buttons onto bobby pin.

Add a dab of hot glue to end.

Let cool completely.

How easy is that? Plus you can make them look exactly the way you want them using whatever buttons are available to you. I think using some vintage coat buttons would be pretty awesome and a bold statement. Well now I know what to look for on our next antiques trip!
