Disney’s “The Lion King” is in theaters now and we are headed out to see it again. This Bugs on a Log recipe is perfect for a birthday or movie night and they were inspired by two of my favorite Disney characters, Timon & Pumbaa.
“Bugs on a Log” Dessert Recipe
The Lion King has been a favorite movie of mine for some time so naturally we were so excited to see the new movie in theaters. Timon and Pumbaa love to eat bugs and grubs so I wanted to make something special for my children to enjoy after our viewing.
Lion King Bugs Dessert
This Lion King dessert would be perfect for a birthday dessert table for The Lion King or any other themed party that revolves around nature. A few examples would be Camping, Science Explorer, Garden and more!
Lion King Inspired Dessert
Ingredients
1 box Yodels
1 tub Chocolate frosting
Gummy snakes, worms, etc.
Green Sanding Sugar
Directions
Put the Yodels in the fridge for at least 1 hour prior to assembling.
Unwrap the Yodels and place on flat service.
Place chocolate icing into a plastic bag and cut a small piece of the tip.
Pipe a wiggly line down the center of each yodel.
Top with your gummy bugs.
Sprinkle with green sanding sugar if desired.

These logs were so easy to make and the best part is they can be made ahead of time and you do not need to put your ovens on either. So cute that your littles will be singing Hakuna Matata”.
