Our rescue dog Bella has quickly become a part of our family. She eats a nutritious diet and gets lots of exercise every day. She has regular check-ups and we provide her with heart worm, tick and flea medicine every month. We try to provide her with the best possible care to keep her safe and healthy.
We live in the middle of a wooded area, and keeping Bella safe once hunting season starts is a top priority for us. Hunting rules and regulations was not something that I had known about before I moved here. I really was not aware of what I needed to do in order to keep our dog safe. Here are a few ideas that I do that you may like to try.
Keep Your Dog Safe During Hunting Season
Keep them inside at dawn hours. During the first few weeks of hunting season it is really important to keep your dog inside during the early morning hours. This is the busiest time of the day for the hunters and it is dark as well so it would be easy for them to mistake your animal for ones that they are hunting.
Wear a bright orange reflector jacket when they are outside. We purchased Bella a few reflective vests last year and it makes me feel better to know that she is visible. We have also let the hunting camps that surround our property know that we have a dog and that she is wearing a vest so that they are aware and can tell their members.
Keep your dog on a leash when possible. Our dog has free roam at our house for the most part. When we call her she comes and sits. We have been very lucky training her so she can enjoy her time outdoors as much as we can. But for this time of year if your dog has a tendency to dart off, keeping them on a leash is a must. Thankfully we have not had a problem where we live but it is really important to keep your dog protected.
We treat Bella like one of the family and provide her with the nourishment that she needs but honestly I do not have time to make separate trips to a pet food store. The last time I was in Stop & Shop I noticed that they had a wide range of Purina ONE True Instinct and NEW DentaLife treats. We purchased a few varieties for Bella and they have quickly become a favorite.
We purchased Purina DentaLife products and Purina ONE True Instinct and she loves them all. I am so happy that I have been able to find food and treats for Bella that I can pick up while doing grocery shopping for my family. It makes keeping her well maintained much easier. Thinking about my dogs teeth and giving her products that can help her maintain good oral care is a plus. Purina DentaLife was launched this year and features a range of oral maintenance treats for both cats and dogs. Plus I can buy them in my local Stop & Shop- win-win.
Now you can try new Purina DentaLife with a $2 coupon available here. These products are especially designed with your pet’s health and wellness in mind.
On October 16 the local Sunday newspaper will have an insert highlighting money-saving coupons on Purina Beyond products for $2 off any Beyond 3lb bag Dry Dog food, $3 off any Beyond 13# or larger bag Dry Dog food. Try these products now and continue to make your pet feel like part of your family like I do.
