This past summer we took the kids to Hershey Park for a few days. We had a blast! Hershey Park is one of the cleanest amusement parks we have ever been to. On the way down to Hershey Park we stopped at Lake Tobias Wildlife Park, which is a TOTAL must see if you are in the area.
We decided that we would separate the different sections of Hershey into different days. On the first day after we went to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park we headed straight to Hershey, PA. The first thing we did was go for the chocolate factory tour. This small ride is great fun for young kids…. even the older kids will like this attraction because you receive a free piece of chocolate at the end.
When we arrived for the chocolate factory tour there was no lines. So we went on this attraction about 5 times! My littlest one could not get enough she thought it was “so cool.” At the end of the ride you exit through the gift shop but there is so much to see in this gift shop from giant Twizzler Pharaoh heads to alb bars of chocolate. There is so much to see! Make sure you bring your sweet tooth!
We decided to try the 4D adventure after the factory tour ride. We waited in a small room with awesome art on the walls that the kids found interesting while we were waiting to find out our secret mission. Everyone donned a pair of 3D glasses as we entered the theater. This was a cute 4D adventure and the room was air conditioned and cool- perfect for the hot day outside.
The next day we decided to play in Hershey Park. We spent the entire day going on all the dry rides. The biggest child loved “The Claw”. While the younger two were thrilled with all the little kid rides. Make sure you measure the kids before you go in because there are definite height requirements on these rides. Hershey does a great job mingling in the rides for smaller children around the bigger roller coasters. This is great if you have kids at two different height ranges (which we totally do) but you definitely need two adults to divide and conquer.
The kids had a blast as we made our way through the park. Needless to say we all were in bed by 8 pm. A perfect way to end the day and gear up for the watermark section “The Boardwalk” for the next day. We decided to rent a cabana at the boardwalk and we are so glad we did. The cabanas at Hershey Park while a little pricey are definitely worth it if you have young children and/or older adults with you. The cabana was great because you had a shady area with table and chairs and beach chairs to use whenever you wanted for the entire day at the park. With the price of your cabana, you also receive 4 beach towels and bag, sun lotion, a locker, unlimited soft drinks at the self-fill station, private entrance to the lazy river and waiter service from a separate grill- just for cabana guests to use.
While the price of the cabana was a little pricey, we thought it was definitely worth it. We never had to wait to get a tube or in line for the lazy river which had a 30 minute wait period for regular guests at The Boardwalk. It was also nice to take a break and eat lunch in our own private area away from the crowds. For me this was a must!
All of the water rides in the Boardwalk are were pretty crowded the day we went but we still had a blast doing all of the water rides that day. Make sure you bring sunscreen and a hat. It gets pretty hot!
Overall we had a great vacation at all of the Hershey Attractions and will definitely be back for another vacation here. Like I mentioned earlier the park is very clean from the rides to the bathrooms which is a total plus for me. Let me know what your favorite part of Hershey is, I am always looking for new places to visit.
