Easy mint simple syrup perfect for flavoring ice tea.
As a full time teacher I hit a mid-day slump around 2 pm. Because I am up early every day I need a great snack in the afternoon to get me through the rest of my day… after school activities, kids t-ball or dance practice. With three kids all going in different directions it is really important for me to be nutritionally satisfied as the day goes on.
While shopping in Walmart last week I was looking for a healthy snack option that was portable and most importantly tastes good. I found ZonePerfect® Nutrition bars and decided to give them a try. I was impressed by the nutritional information label that these nutrition bars were a good source for fiber, no HFCS, no less than 10 grams of protein and they had a large variety of flavors to choose from.

I always have a pitcher full of unsweetened ice tea in the refrigerator. I love to add my own sweetener to the ice tea so I can control how much sugar I am consuming. Mint is one of my favorite flavors so I love to naturally infuse fresh mint from our yard into simple syrup the we leave in the fridge for iced and hot tea! Plus this recipe is so easy to do.
