Nighttime routines in small children and toddlers are so important. They set the example to what is expected every evening. My children have followed a bedtime routine for as long as I can remember and these Sposie Diaper Booster Pads make these routines even better.
Nighttime Routines for Toddlers
Follow a simple 5-step system to ensure your toddler has a restful and dry night sleep.
Sposie Diaper Booster Pads are a great solution for overnight diapers and heavy wetters. Nighttime routines can be difficult for toddlers when you are potty training or just trying to get a good night sleep but thanks to Sposie Diaper Booster Pads because they wick away moisture from your baby’s skin and creates a stay-dry barrier to reduce diaper rash and irritation.
5-Step Nighttime Routine for Toddlers
Bath
Start with a nice warm bath with lavender scent to calm and relax your toddler. Bath time is one of my favorite times of the day when you have your child’s undivided attention. Plus they smell so delicious when they are fresh from the tub clean.
Teeth
We like to set out a small sand timer to make sure the kids brush their teeth for about a minute. They can also hum “Happy Birthday” while they are brushing their teeth to ensure appropriate times for brushing. Getting toddlers on a healthy dental routine when they are small will make it easier when they get older.
Potty
Stop all drinks and food at least one hour prior to getting ready for bed. Have them go to the potty and then fit them with a diaper and Sposie Diaper Booster Pads which make any diaper into a nighttime diaper, adjust as necessary. For a girl, just leave the insert in the middle of the diaper. For a boy, pull it to the front.
Book
This is probably the most exciting part of our routine. We love to pick out a book or two to read. Now that my daughter is reading a little we usually will pick out a simple book that she can read all by herself and then mom will read another book. Even are older boys like to read or journal before they go to bed. It is a great time to relax and unwind and no electronics!
Tuck-in Bed
Tucking in has its own routine as well. Daddy has to go first and then Mom is last. We usually ask “what are we doing tomorrow?” before we pull down our sleep mask and turn off the lights. We have a night light that we keep on just in case we need anything.
There you have our 5-step process for a great nighttime routine for toddlers. We have followed this routine for all of our children and our oldest is 17 and he still follows a version of this same routine. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it!
Our nighttime routine just got so much better with help from Sposie Diaper Booster Pads. These can also be used if you have older children that occasionally have accidents at night.
