This is by far the best rice pudding recipe to make. This recipe comes from my Nana’s cookbook and the pudding is always creamy. This dessert is one of my favorites to make for a crown because you can make it ahead of time and keep in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve. Rice pudding is a classic dessert that has been enjoyed for centuries. This creamy and comforting dessert is made from simple ingredients, but it’s the slow cooking process that really brings out the flavor and texture.
How do you make rice pudding?
Pudding in general is one of my favorite desserts. There is something so comforting in a homemade chocolate pudding or challah bread pudding as well!

Ingredients
1 cup white rice
2 cups whole milk
3 cups water
1 14 oz can condensed milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1 TBSP vanilla extract
1 TBSP butter
1 egg, beaten

Directions
In a pot, combine the milk, water, rice and butter over medium heat, allow the mixture to come to a boil.
Once boiling, lower heat and cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes. The rice should be just about cooked but you should have some liquid left, if not add a small amount of ilk.
Remove from heat and add condensed milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt and stir well to combine.
Return to heat for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and add egg slowly and stir constantly.
Serve warm or chill in the fridge!
Tips:
- Be sure to stir the rice pudding occasionally while it simmers to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan and burning.
- If you want a thinner consistency, you can add more milk or cream to the mixture while it cooks.
- For added flavor, you can also add a cinnamon stick or a few drops of almond extract to the mixture while it cooks.
In conclusion, this creamy rice pudding recipe is a delicious and comforting dessert that is perfect for any occasion.
